The Last Supper
The last supper is described in all of four gospels (Matthew 26:17-30, Mark 14:12-26, Luke 22:7-39, and John 13:1-17:26). Jesus and his disciples gather to consume traditional Passover meal. Christianity celebrates this ritual in remembrance of Jesus as he ordered to do so (1 Cor 11:23-25).
Canticles in the Gospel of Luke
These four songs are derived from a collection of early Jewish-Christian canticles, which complement the promise-fulfillment theme of Luke's infancy narrative. They are incorporated into the liturgical services of some traditional Christian churches.
Christological Hymns
A few passages in the New Testament are considered to be fragments of early Christian hymns. Such hymns existed in order to honor and praise God. This is a record of the most serious and beautiful messages about Christ.
